At Cum Cura, we connect people who truly understand each other.

Our Buddy Program is for (former) patients or loved ones who need a listening ear, a shared story, or simply someone who knows what you're going through.

The Buddy Program at Cum Cura is a volunteer-based initiative where peers with lived experience (buddies) connect with others facing similar challenges. It’s about equality, trust, and human connection — not professional care, but warm, genuine support.. 

What can we do for you?

  • We will find a buddy who understands your situation.
  • You choose how you want to connect: by phone, video call, or in person.
  • Even one conversation can make a big difference — more contact is always possible.
  • You can also join a private Facebook group with other peers.
  • Everything you share remains confidential.
  • A few months after your conversation, your buddy will check in with you, if you wish.

  • Attention to your story, at your own pace.
  • No ready-made answers, but space to explore together.
  • If desired: follow-up or connection to a peer group.

Who are our Buddies? 

Our buddies are themselves (former) patients or loved ones of someone with a similar experience. They understand what it feels like to cope with uncertainty, recovery, or change. They listen without judgment, do not provide medical advice, but share their experience and offer support.

At Cum Cura, we don’t just assign anyone as a buddy.
Every buddy is a volunteer with personal experience as a peer of Sarcoma, Desmoid, or Giant Cell Tumors. They receive careful training to become experienced supporters who listen and assist in a warm and respectful way. We pay close attention to who you are and what you need,so we can match you with someone who truly understands your situation. This ensures genuinely meaningful contact.

    • Fill out the registration form * to be matched with a buddy. We will then contact you.
    • Send us a message via the contact form at the bottom of the webpage for sarcoma, desmoid or giant cell tumors. Please include your phone number, and we will reach out to find a buddy matched for you.
    • If you only want to connect with a group of peers, you can join our private Facebook groups online. Access is limited to peers of sarcoma, desmoid, giant cell tumors or family of survivors.

    * Your request will be handled discreetly, and your information will only be used to find a suitable buddy and contact you.
