Onderzoekers van de KU Leuven en UZ Leuven publiceerden nieuwe resultaten over twee experimentele geneesmiddelen tegen wekedelensarcoom: ecubectedin en PM54.
Megaprothesen bij botkanker: waarom complexe botreconstructies worden geconcentreerd in België
Sinds 1 november 2025 zijn in België de terugbetalingsvoorwaarden voor de reconstructie van grote botdefecten gewijzigd. Het gaat om complexe orthopedische ingrepen waarbij een groot deel van een bot moet worden vervangen of gereconstrueerd, bijvoorbeeld met een megaprothese.

For the first time in Europe, a medicine has been approved for the treatment of tenosynovial giant cell tumors (TGCT) in adults. It concerns Vimseltinib (trade name: Romvimza). This is a major breakthrough for patients who until now were almost exclusively dependent on surgery.
